1983
It all began in 1983 with a small hand-sewn production run of ten blouses, which sold out in no time.
The NILE success story began in 1983 with a chance encounter between Markus Gygax and Edith Hansmann, and a hand-sewn limited run of ten blouses that sold out in a flash.
Fast-forward to today and NILE has established itself – and many chapters, countless collections, numerous stores and valuable experiences have been added to the success story. The company has been based in Switzerland since its foundation, but is represented by various subsidiaries in other countries.
Marc Gordon Willi joined the company in 2008 and is now CEO and owner of Nile Clothing AG.
Our philosophy thrives on continuousdevelopment. And after more than 40 years, our drive to keep improving is still central – for our customers, for our team, and for a world in which fairness and accountabilityare paramount.
